The ABA (Academic Business Administrators) group was an organization at UC San Diego composed of the administrative heads (MSOs and Business Officers) of units reporting to the Executive Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs. The group met regularly to exchange information and to discuss a broad range of issues pertaining to the provision of administrative and business services in an academic environment. Members were often asked to participate in policy development, business process redesign teams, pilot projects, training initiatives, and other campus efforts to improve administrative functions. The ABA Executive Board served as the initial point of contact for ABA's collective voice, functioned as a sounding board for new initiatives, changes, and visions for the campus, and took ABA concerns to the next influential level. They welcomed the opportunity to hear from and meet with representatives from the various Vice Chancellor areas about activities and goals.
The ABA generally met on the first Tuesday of each month during the academic year from 9:00 – 10:30 AM in University Center 111A (Conference Room, Chancellor's Complex).
